I’d like to see what kind of digital scrapbook paper Google’s AI Image Generator, Gemini, would create.
Would it look authentic, or AI-generated?
I went to Gemini to discover the answer, chose Create Image, and selected Thinking Mode. I entered a descriptive text in the input field and selected the arrow button to generate the image.

I was surprised.
The generated image was impressive. It looked like a nature-themed scrapbook page with deckled edges, faded text, and music notes slightly covered in beige ink, and a pretty bird resting on a branch.
How about a watercolor version?
Using the exact text, I added the word “watercolor” before “scrapbook” to change the page’s look.

The image appeared slightly different in watercolor format.
Both images were generated as digital art using AI. They look beautiful and can be downloaded and printed for creative projects. However, I hesitate to use the generated images.
Where did the graphics to make the digital scrapbook page or the generated digital image come from?
I have no idea.
Were they pulled from the internet and are subject to restrictions?
Who knows. You need to read through the lengthy Terms of Use Policy to find the answer.
It appears to be beautiful, creative artwork, but it’s not authentic, hand-made artwork. It’s digitally generated. Anyone can describe an image, press a button, and create digital art with AI.
I love genuine, hand-crafted creations made with premium paper and passion or a love of the craft. Premium scrapbook paper costs more, but it’s worth peace of mind knowing it’s authentic artwork.
Better yet, why not make something handmade with scraps of leftover paper?
